Food is definitely comfort for me, and I'm a very moderate person. I enjoy compromise, so I'm not really going to ever be attracted to doing the most extreme iteration of things. And a big part of the reason why I stopped being a vegetarian was because I find that not having restrictions often strengthens me. I eat healthier things and of a wider variety of vegetables now that I'm not a vegetarian. I didn't want meat to become The Other b/c then I'd desire The Other just because it was The Other and not because I really wanted it. AND because I got less shit about eating vegetarian if I didn't mention that I was a vegetarian.
